Opera and Gelato for Bastille Day

It’s well past midnight, so short entry. Saw Il Troubadore at the Opera Bastille tonight. Gorgeous female soloists, powerful chorus, great music, bizarre stage direction and set design. Rather like Darren Nichols got ahold of it. I celebrated by buying a beautifully illustrated picture book of Giselle and a super-judgey canvas tote bag.

We ate gelato roses on our warm summer night walk home.

(Jason ate his while holding it with both hands in constant fear of dribbling on his outfit.)

It was a lovely evening all around!
