A few weeks ago I got to school on the early side and a herd of deer were gathered at the base of the front steps while one of them was at the top looking in the glass door. To my regret, I wasn’t quick enough with my camera before they spotted me and dashed back up the hill into the woods.
At my new school, they showed me the view of the neighborhood park from one of the rooms. “Isn’t it great?” they asked. “Best view you could ask for!”
It’s green and nice with houses wrapped around it and mountains in the distance, and I agreed politely while recalling the view out my current classroom window:
