I arrived at LHR for a five hour layover after an uneventful flight. Since I did technically go outdoors to change terminals, I think I can count this as a two-continent trip.
I met up with this charming fellow:
and we had lunch before boarding our flight to Cairo.
Turns out getting out of the airport in Cairo takes just about as long as the flight there. We were happily met by Atlar who guided us through getting visas, getting our bags, and meeting our driver.
We’re at the Four Seasons in Giza now in a “premier twin” room. Their Lebanese restaurant was happily open late so we got dinner before retiring to our beds.
Atlar have us strict instructions to be in the lobby at 9 tomorrow morning to see the pyramids. Oo-rah!
